Good Morning Surrey,
The Bank of England has raised Bank Rate from 3.75% to 4%, a small-looking change that can have a rather less small effect on a monthly budget.
The Bank’s idea is to make borrowing more expensive so people spend less, easing pressure on prices and bringing inflation back towards the Bank's 2% target. The catch, of course, is that households already dealing with rising costs may now face higher mortgage payments too. And even when inflation falls, prices don't necessarily come down. They just rise more slowly.
In today’s edition:
Bank Rate rises to 4%, with energy support and wage changes also in the news.
Local planning consultations and Brockham Bonfire road restrictions.
Winter grants, food clubs and practical community support.
Fireworks, performances and family activities across East Surrey.
Weekend markets, restaurant choices and local services.
Let’s take a look.

$1,000 in Nvidia Became $132,000. Analysts Eye 5 More
Ten years ago, Nvidia traded for about $1.65 a share on a split-adjusted basis. Most people knew it as the video game chip company and never gave it a second look. Today it trades above $217, and a $1,000 stake would be worth roughly $132,000.
Almost everyone heard the name along the way, but very few bought before the crowd caught on.
Now analysts have flagged five smaller companies supplying the chips, servers, power and networking behind the AI build-out, with price targets as high as 55%. Tell us where to send them and we'll text you all five tickers free, plus SMS alerts when we spot the next setup.

And Finally..
A Bank Rate headline can turn an ordinary Friday into a quick check of the household figures. Once that is done, there is still a weekend to plan, with road closures to watch and local places to visit. If we've missed a useful detail, reply with a tip or correction.
Have a good weekend, Surrey.
